Happy Melty, Soggy January desiree, January 10, 2018April 7, 2019 Warning: I am kind of sluggish and foggy. Maybe the weather or still adjusting. My sleep schedule is off with very early bedtimes and morning rises–and sometimes with energetic wake-up sessions in between. I actually had this blog post written out in my notebook on January 2, but I feel like a snippet update (no clever transitions or wit, just our news) will suffice. More diary than update. Sorry. We have been busy tying up the last loose ends of our move out west while watching the rain reveal the rich green hues of life around our little cabin. With the extended forecast showing high temps consistently above freezing and progressively increasing for the rest of the season along with incremental additions of afternoon sun each day, we feel more and more at home here in Walla Walla. We are very much looking forward to settling down in town later in the spring, but we can only take so many transitions at one time. (Insert long yawn and fight against fog-brain here. Let’s just get to the rundown.) Dia and Cade’s speech evaluations are this week. The boys start homeschool co-op classes next week. We plan on starting swim at the Y next month. (It’s all about community interactions, but also our kids are seriously on attempt #3 when it comes to learning how to swim. It’s happening this time.) We got our library cards last week, and if you know our family, that’s like Christmas. In regards to church, we started having informal services on Sundays along with new members’ training, brainstorming, and prayer on Wednesdays. I got the kids’ curriculum organized and semi-implemented. Clint has been doing a lot of reading and sermon prep. He will be assisting with a funeral next week and officiating a wedding next month. (Stop–can you take a moment to pray for our interactions? May they be purposeful and Spirit-led. Whether in mundane tasks, the unexpected, a family’s loss or joy, pray we rely on Him to proclaim His kingdom, to speak truth, to encourage, to make iron sharp. Thank you, friends.) I have an interview which hopefully leads to another interview on Friday. This is for a merchandiser position in a field I have previously worked and really enjoyed. I would be able to make my own schedule and have a lot independence and personal accountability. As a homeschooling mom, I have mixed feelings about this. I get to escape! But do I want to escape? #everymomsstruggle We were kind of isolated where we lived in South Carolina, so I am craving interaction big time here in Washington. One important part of a church planter’s (and his wife’s) job is purposeful interactions. Pray for us (specifically me) to prioritize relationships. (I guess this piggybacks the previous petition for prayer. This post is so unorganized.) In some cases, God may want me to only plant a seed when I want to drag a watering hose around. That’s all I got for now. Thanks for reading. Keep us in your prayers. Drop us a line. (Do people still say that?) Share this:FacebookPinterestTwitterPocket Related update
